Estimates
Estimates are published as a guide only and are based upon prices recently paid at auction for comparable property. Buyers should not rely upon estimates as a representation or prediction of actual selling prices. Estimates can be subject to revision in which case a saleroom notice will be posted. Estimates do not include buyer’s premium or VAT
Reserves
All lots are subject to a confidential reserve price which will be on or below the pre-sale lower estimate.
Buyer’s Premium
Convery Auctions charges a buyer’s premium of 15% on the final bid price of each lot sold.
VAT
VAT is payable at the standard rate of 17.5% on the buyers premium. Lots are normally offered for sale under the auctioneer’s margin scheme. The exception is where lot are marked with a † VAT symbol. These items will be sold under the normal UK VAT rules and VAT will be charged at 17.5% on both the hammer price and the buyer’s premium.

Condition Reports
If it is not possible to view the sale (although it is highly recommended). Convery Auctions, we will be pleased to provide condition reports on lots where practical. All condition reports are provided in good faith. Buyers are reminded that it is their responsibility to satisfy themselves over the condition of lots (refer to Conditions of Business paragraphs).
Artist's Resale Rights
From time to time lots may be affected by this. It will be identified with a special symbol next to the relevant lot. Buyers of these lots will be subject to the payment of an Artist’s Resale Right. Resale royalty applies where the Hammer Price is 1,000 euros or more and the amount cannot be more than 12,500 euros per lot. The amount is calculated as follows:

Bidder Registration
Prospective buyers must register for a numbered paddle prior to the auction. Registration can be done on the morning of the auction if bidding in person. In some cases proof of identification will be required. New clients will be asked to supply a bank reference. To avoid delay please contact Convery Auctions prior to the auction for further information on 01506 657 957. All lots sold will be invoiced to the name and address on the registration form. Please note these details can not be transferred after the auction. If a third party is bidding on your behalf a letter of authority will be required. Convery Auctions Ltd. reserves the right to refuse.
Bidding
The auctioneer accepts bids from those present in the saleroom, from telephones bidders or by absentee written bids left in advance with Convery Auctions. Under no circumstances will the auctioneer place any bid on behalf of the seller at or above the reserve.
Absentee Bids
Convery Auctions Ltd will delighted to execute bids on behalf of those clients unable to attend the auction in person. Absentee bids are written instructions from prospective buyers directing the auction house to bid on their behalf up to a maximum amount specified for each lot. Convery Auction staff will attempt to execute an absentee bid at the lowest possible price taking into account the reserve price, other bids received and competition in the saleroom. Absentee bids will be clearly announced by the auctioneer identifying these as “commission bids”, “book bids” or “absentee bids”. Absentee bids forms are available online. This service is subject to our Conditions of Business.

Telephone Bidding
Telephone bids can be arranged preferable well in advance of the sale. However, these are subject to availability of lines. Telephone bids may be recorded, prospective buyers consent to the recording of their conversation. This service is subject to our Condition of Business
Successful Bids
Convery Auctions Ltd is not able to notify successful bidders by telephone. While invoices are sent out by post or e-mail after the auction we do not accept responsibility for notifying you. Buyers are requested to contact us by telephone, post, in person or by e-mail to obtain details of the outcome of their bids. Successful bidders will pay the price of the final bid price plus premium plus any applicable VAT
Payment
Buyers are expected to pay for the purchase immediately after the auction in sterling. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, sterling bank draft, direct bank transfer in sterling, credit card (we are unable to accept American Express card payments), debit cards (e.g.Swith/Delta). Please note that no lots will be released until clear payment has been made or prior arrangement have been agreed by Convery Auctions Ltd
Credit/Debit Cards
A surcharge of 3% of the transaction total. This is a charge levied to Convery Auctions Ltd by our bank. There is no charge for payment made by debit cards
Sterling Bankers Draft or Building Society Cheque
Drawn on a recognised UK bank or building society
Sterling Cheque or Cash
Please be aware that cheques may take up to five working days to clear where the amount exceeds the card guarantee limit. We reserve the right to hold lots until cheque is cleared. Cheques and drafts should be made payable to:

It is company policy not to make or accept single or multiple payments in cash or cash equivalents of more than £5,000 or the equivalent value in another currency.
