Valuations
Saleroom valuations and auction advice are completely free of charge and without obligation. If you have an item(s) that you wish to have valued please contact us by telephone, post or e-mail. In order to provide an accurate valuation, photographs of the item, details of its condition and history or provenance are always beneficial.
Convery Auctions Ltd travel throughout the UK so it may be possible to organise a home visit or to meet you in person at one of our valuation days held at venues throughout the country. Dates for these valuation days will be posted on the website and advertised in local press.
Auctions
Convery Auctions will hold a minimum of two sales per year. Please click on the calendar for the latest sale information. Please note that with each sale there will be a closing date for entries, normally eight weeks prior to the sale date. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss entry into the sale and for help and advice on transport.
Commission Charges/Fees
Commission is payable at 15% of the hammer price on all lots sold. If your property fails to sell at the sale/meet it’s reserve no commission will be payable. On larger consignments/collections Convery Auctions are happy to discuss competitive commission terms.
Whilst you property is in our possession it is insured. A charge of 1.5% insurance will be payable on the hammer price
In the majority of cases we advise that your property be illustrated for use in the catalogue and on the internet. Standard illustrations are subject to a £15 fee. However, if the item(s) merit a larger image, then the charges will be higher depending on size of image. Please note all illustration charges will be agreed in advance of catalogue publication.
Unsold lots are not subject to commission. However, the unsold lots will be subject to the 1.5% insurance charge.
Our commission charges and fees are subject to VAT where applicable. Please note that we do not apply a minimum lot or a handling charge
The Catalogue
We will produce a colour illustrated auction catalogue which will be sent to relevant buyers, museums, institutions, subscribers and sporting organisations. The catalogue will also appear online here
Pre-Sale Advice
Each vendor will receive a pre-sale advice form detailing your lot(s) and confirming the confidential agreed reserve between the seller and Convery Auctions Ltd.
Pre-Sale Viewing
Your property will be on public view/exhibition for a period of approximately three days. This will give prospective buyers time to view the sale and make any necessary enquiries relating to the auction.
Sale Day/Auction
This is a public event and if you are able to attend we recommend that you do so to watch your lot(s) go under the hammer.
Payment/Settlement
This is normally made thirty days after the day of the auction normally by sterling cheque. Alternative payment arrangement can be discussed. However, these must be agreed well in advanced of the auction. Please note that payment to the vendor will only be made subject to payment being received by the purchaser.
